Anyone else going to Burnham Week?

I'll be heading up from the non-tidal Thames with some friends of ours in there boat, could be a bit bumpy for us on the Friday... Got MOBO, so will be there for a bit of chilling out and popping into the various sailing clubs which always make us most welcome.

I'll be about, but not in BD. I did a Mersea/Burnham deal with the master of Strontium Dog to crew each other's boats. You won't miss her, she's a 43' racing tri in white and orange.

I will be guesting on Moondancer on Saturday, and Vreny on Sunday and Monday.

Hoping to meet the Artemii in Burnham for the Beer festival and BBQ on Saturday afternoon/Evening.

Full Circle will be lurking somewhere in the vicinity, probably on a swinging mooring.

Traigh is going to give it a miss this year. Last year our handicap was so divorced from reality that the crew got disheartened and wanted to go for a picnic instead.

Have a great time and don't forget, "it's just for fun", something many BW competitors seem to forget.

Dan, Did you get our PM about the Stella Dinner on Monday?

Have assembled a crew and have entered Burnham Week. Last year there were loads of forumites there. Anyone else going this year?

We'll be doing the first weekend in the Stella Class then last Saturday in another class TBD. Tied up with Stella events Saturday and Monday, but up for sea wall BBQ Sunday evening. Thinking of doing BSC seafood supper on Tuesday if we can still get places, give me a shout if you want to join us. Not sure about plans for last Saturday yet.... maybe Oyster Smack early enough for AJ to eat with us.

Still recovering from the Fastnet and Grayling is out of the water I hopefully will get to visit her this weekend to recast the job list.

I second DanTribe's comments about handicap, I think ours rates from 1982 when she was launched and everything else competing was a similar size (under 30ft), now it just means we turn up for a laugh and a finish is a result. I am seriously considering an upgrade to 30-35ftr next year.

I will be doing the first weekend. Jim is crewing on Saturday and two Brother in laws crewing on Sunday and Monday. Shame that Traigh isn't doing it this year. Makes a change from work though and I hope to just enjoy it.

We will be there for the first weekend.

Being put through our paces at the moment trying to arrange a sail number from the RYA and a sailmaker to stick them on within the required arc

Mary and I plus a few crew will be at the RCYC on Friday evening for the fish supper if anyone fancies a drink...

This assumes that we move the boat successfully from Shotley tomorrow morning

Will try to catch up for a drink.... what time's the fish supper? Too late for AJ?

We were thinking of BBQ on the sea wall Sunday if the weather is good.

Hi
Sorry, I didn't spot the PM, Where's the little flaggy thing gone?
Reply now sent. We are off to be grockles and annoy the natives in Cornwall and Scilly for a week.
I trust you will uphold the tradition of rowdy Stella dinners.
Burnham Week seems to be getting too serious recently.
How about trying to re-introduce some of the silly things? e.g. water bombing the committee boat, fancy dress on final saturday. We were the only boat doing that last year, lighten up a bit. You now have a responsibility to pass on the traditions to the new generation of Burnham Week rowdies.
