Ive used a Gymsim SIM for mobile phone roaming in Turkey, Greece and Nepal in the past few months and noticed that Ive spent quite a lot on auto top ups. Problem is tha the call log part of the website doesnt work and Gymsim support says it hasnt worked since their web developer did some work on it last year. They are developing a new site but does seem poor that currently you cant check your bill and you have to take on trust the ammount that your feeding into the meter !
BTW the connectivity that Gymsim provides is excellent - no complaints there.

I would cancel auto top-up until they fix this.
Gymsim don't provide connectivity, the local networks do, (Turkcell, Vodaphone etc), so you would expect it to be the same as if you had a local phone.

I have one of these sim cards from a competing company, the service is beneficial, but not as great as these companies would have you believe; (e.g. no free incoming calls in the Caribbean).

The calls aren't free. The callers pay a premium.

Very strange - my call history is blank and Gymsim say

"Thank you for your email.

Actually we did have access to the " Call Log "available on customers accounts, but last year our web developer did some work on the Gymsim site and l noticed that access wasn't available anymore.

We now have a new team of web developers building a brand new site for us. The Call Log facility will be available on this. lt was supposed to be completed now so l would assume its not far off being relaunched.

Sorry for the inconvenience."

I purchased a Gymsim data sim a few months ago. I was sent a World 44 instead of what I requested because it was easier to set up according to Gymsim.
OK I thinks, no problem with that, but they will not tell me the data rates for it. The ones on the web are wrong apparently but will they tell me the correct ones, Will they heck despite many attempts to find out.

So to answer your initial question, I'm concerned about them.

Did you try selecting different periods of time for the call history results? The short periods do not seem to work for me, but the longer ones do.
Yes tried that - still blank call history.
I'll just have to wait until they get it straight, however Ive just noticed that I have an account balance of €41 so maybe I havent been spending all that much after all. Just would be nice to see it.
mmmn If my auto topup threshold is set at €10 and my topup ammount set at €25 how can I have an account balance of €41?
I give up .. at least it works in Turkey OK

I don't think that is the case, certainly not with GlobalSimCard. The pay the same as if calling a UK mobile number.

We thought this too and were being told the same for a while by GYMSIM but we pay for the old folks' mobile and we suddenly found the bills rocketing due to the fact that the calls to the GYMSIM number were being treated as premium and not part of contract minutes. Our kids had been telling us the same for a while too. We now only make outgoing calls and that rarely given how they have ramped up the rates successively. Conclusion: GYMSIM is not the free lunch it seems to be

This is old now, so anyone with recent experience with GYMSIM or other "world" sims for voice and/or for data (iPad)? We are from Australia, but our interest from a cruising perspective is UK, Portugal, Spain, Greece and Turkey. Thanks!
