After a horrendously wet storm passes through this Wednesday things look like they're finally going to settle down and the temperatures look to be heading into the teens over the weekend.

Is this the weekend when people think about coming out of hibernation? Or still too early?

Just woke out of hibernation, but the teen temperatures originally forecast for the weekend seem to have been a tad optimistic. So back to sleep for another week at least. Call me when temp hits 12C.

I have been wondering whether or not to venture out of Penton Hook for a trip to the Staines Massif this coming weekend but I suspect the car may win the contest.
Weather man suggests next week will see a period of high pressure and better temperatures.

(PS - having seen Alex Jones up the mast on the Sportsaid boat I am feeling quite inadequate :( )

I am planning to go down to the boat to give it a clean over the weekend and finally get round to putting the river license on display (that has been sitting in the car since Jan).

I haven't been down since before xmas as have been busy, so not looking forward to seeing how dirty it has got

I'm going out on Sunday afternoon. Small trip from Chiswick up to the Anglers Arms in Teddington and back.

Weather seems to be teasing us at the moment. Latest discussion from the Metcheck geeks seem to suggest that its a battle between two high pressure systems, one from the Azores, the other over Scandinavia. Some models have the Scandinavian high 'winning' which would give us cold easterly winds, while the others have the Azorean high winning which would give us warmer south westerly winds. The Azores high will eventually gain dominance its just a question of when.

Come on Spring! Shows us what you're made of!

Expect the levels and flow to rise a bit...loads of rain in Oxfordshire last night and this morning.

Lots of standing water in the feilds and on the roads to finds its way into the Thames over the next couple of days.

We went from Penton Hook to Staines last weekend. P H lock was manned which was a bonus. Stayed at Thames Lodge for the night. We got the most attentive service as we were the only diners in the restaurant. The meal was very good.

We needed to be back home early on Sunday so left Thames Lodge about 7.00 am and had a fabulous cruise back with clear blue sky and bright sunshine, an absolute delight.

I would concur with the above post as I was around the Abingdon area yesterday for work, and a lot of water is about. Suspect it will affect flows over the next few days.

Well someone has beaten us to their launch.....

I had my boat serviced there a couple of weeks ago. Saved an elderly man with his disabled wife who parked there about an hour before high tide. It was already beginning to flood the road! There are signs everywhere but people still miss them.

Went out on Sunday as planned. Tide was in the early evening. It was stunning but very cold as soon as the sun goes down with quite a bitter wind. The flow up at Teddington was 'interesting'. I was glad for having a decent sized engine on the back!
