I have a reason to want to go here next August but only if it would possible to sail there. Can't find much on tinternet so was curious if anyone has been there.

There appears to be some kind of harbour there.
Does anyone know if it welcomes visitors?
Drying...?
Pontoons or wall?

Cheers,
Nick

Think you might be alright, but you will need to talk to the locals.

Haven't been in as it's a _very_ narrow entrance

And looks like the boats are lifting keels

The moorings all look like club owned too

Contact the SC and ask, otherwise it's Arklow or Kilmore Quay (Wexford equally problematic).

We stopped over there a few years back (27' & 4' Draft) with no problems whatsoever, though it was in very light weather - I'm not sure I'd head for there if it was rough. The entrance is perhaps 50' wide and something like a 200 yard long canal, when almost at the end of which you turn hard a starboard into the moorings. Whilst it's flat enough on the moorings, there was a swell 'washing' us into the entrance, if that got large you might struggle to make the turn at the end. Nice place though; I'd go again if I got chance.

Yes - it is a lovely little place once you are in - but a bit of traffic from the hire paddle boats. Entrance often silts up and is cleared by a JCB - so you do need to get local, current knowledge. The club race each weekend.
Wouldn't go near it in an Easterly.

ICC Pilot says:

This little harbour provides perfect shelter for small shallow draught boats but the entrance is sometimes blocked by a bank of shingle just inside the pierheads. This is dredged regularly to 1.2m below CD during the summer season. Mooring fore and aft in the harbour in approximately 1.2m LAT. DO not approach in stormy easterlies. Outside the harbour there is often good shelter in winds between SW and NW and a yacht can anchor about 2 cables off the piers in 6 or 7m, good holding in sand.
