We are at the moment on H jetty, and soon moving to F. Have friends on C. As far as I can tell all the pontoons are easy to get in and out from. Ours is quite bouncy, which is why we are moving to F. C isn't too bad at all. You ought to be pretty safe and sheltered on E or B.
spent many happy seasons in hasler on b jetty, but must admit jetties further towards the clubhouse were very lively. Sometimes to the extent that you could not be comfortable on the boat. Great place though.

E would be fine, we are on F and its very comfortable.
IMHO its best to have a west facing berth so you berth into the prevailing wind

Would agree with that - we are also on F and its very comfy. Facing west is good in terms of prevailing wind which you tur into when berthing and helps push the bow round when leaving. Plus, if you can get a starboard to berth its also a lot easier making the turn in.
I'm on K, the very last one and very bouncy in bad weather. Also a bit difficult to get in & out when the tide is at full tilt ( you should see the weed stream out at 90 degrees from the pilings ! ). However, it is only about 100 paces from the bar when you get back /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif
I have found the staff at Haslar very friendly and helpful and the facilities are always clean and tidy.
Shame that Landers have given up the contract at The Lightship. Has anyone heard more about this ? Last I heard was that The Lightship would become a Berth-holders Club Bar ?
I am on B and it is a very quiet berth, I am facing the prevailing winds so that makes coming in pretty easy. With the new shower block on A it is also very convenient and if you need to pop out to the chandlers for that 1 screw you forgot, it is a 2 minute walk, as well as being close to the car park. OK, it is a bit far to the Lightship, but Landers is nicer and a short stagger back.
As far as the Lightship goes, went there 2 weeks ago, it is all done up (well, some changes in decor), but no news on the berthholder club as far as I know. Nice feature is a plasma screen displaying AIS info of the Solent. The menu has changed and has gone more upmarket. Also, I have heard from an informed source that Landers has been sold to the same guy who has taken over the Lightship (you'll recognise his boat, it is a big mobo parked right outside the Mary Mouse). I don't know what will happen to the Landers menu, but I would have thought it makes more business sense to have an upmarket restaurant at Landers and a comfort food/beer place at the lightship but hey what do I know.
