hello all,
MapisM asked a pickup and forwarding Q a month or so ago and due to the Italian dinner offered, there were many takers...
I'm not going to challenge that with a souvlaki and retsina takeaway (I could join in the souvlaki but you'd have to drink that thing alone
), so i'll skip that part and go straight to the slightly more complicated request.
Trying to get a Roland 88-key el. piano for my son (not willing to pay a grand for a thing that I'm not really sure how much will be used) but had minimal luck down here. Unfortunately the ones I find in ebay are in the UK (or even worse US) and unsurprisingly no one is willing to post, they want pickup only.
The one in Tonbridge is the only one that has a hard case which means it can be safely shipped down here (at a cost!) without the extra hassle of finding a case fitting it in and shipping. Also has a folding stand which needs to be strapped onto the case I guess.
So, effectively I'm just checking if anyone is in the area and is willing and able to help. I've contacted the guy via ebay and he's not interested to ship even to a UK address (I could call his two letter reply rude, just a straight "No"), item ended and he dropped the price even more, so he seems keen to sell.
So ideal situation, you bid for the item (I xfer the money to you as it wont work me bidding, paying via paypal and you going to pick it up!), collect it up and send it to a forwarding co in London (they can also come and collect) A week or so later, it arrives in Athens and I pick it up on my next trip...
No worries if none is around that area, and no CANNOT be picked up with a bike or pushbike as the box is around 1m long 40cm wide and 15cm thick and should be around 35kg with the case!
