Anyone after a tree for a mast?

Some friends of mine are looking to get a pine tree removed from their garden which would almost certainly make for a good mast.
I have been told it is very straight and tall (probably around 30ft ish). It would be a shame to see it chopped up for fire wood so if anyone is interested give me a shout and I can try and get some more details, better dimensions and probably some pics etc.
The owners don't want anything for it and are willing to sort out all planning to take it down so all it would need is transporting!

You don't say what part of the country it is in.

Also, I wonder if this would be better posted on the Classic Boat forum - someone there may be building or restoring the sort of boat that would need a wooden mast - although I don'tfrankly know whether pine is a suitable species for masts.
