Anyone after a generator?

Up to 8 hours running time

About what I would expect, but at least it is cheap eh?

Some of the kit from Aldi is quite robust. I'm using a well-made inverter from them and support-line worked well too - I had a query about 'earthing' arrangements. 8 hours on a generator filling ain't too bad if you need the genny for us creek dwelling types nowhere near a 240 power source during fit-out. I got their oilies last year but, sigh, few sailing opportunities when I actually wanted to go out and they we're too damned yellow to wear down to Sainsburys. Would blind the poor flag-sellers congregating round the door if the sun came out suddenly.

Nearly all these 'cheap' gennys seem to originate from the same factory (unusually it seems in India rather than China).

I have one badged 'MAXIMA' but identical to 'Wolf' and many others.

My spark-plug failed with an intermittent fault which fooled me for a time; and I suffered from an amazing amount of debris in the fuel tank which clogged the filters and carburetter. Apart from that it serves it's purpose fine!

Re: Anyone after a generator? /Puzzled

Puzzled by your post, but Aldi / LIDL will be covered by an implied 12 month (minimum) 'guarantee' under UK law just the same as Honda / Yamaha /whatever. Your rights exist against the seller. Any extra will be a bonus which you may or may not find helpful dealing with the manufacturer.

Personally, at the price level we are talking about I simply take such products on the traditional **buyer beware** principle. If, very occaisonaly, my choice proves poor I just take it on the chin.
