Good evening to all.Have been researching what's available to increase cabin ventilation and make down below a bit fresher and get rid of condensation etc. I've come across a company in Malta that make a nice looking, so called, " air-only "vent . Available on e-bay.The spec is impressive, looks a simple and sensible design but was just wondering if anyone has ever used them ? Any feedback would be very welcome. Cheers.

Strange...I leave in Malta and never heard of the company or seen the vents in only the few shops available on the island. I replaced my vents recently and went around shoping for them. I'll try to check the company&air-vents tomorrow and let you know.
Regards

I fitted the Plastimo equivalent which has a saucer/flap which keeps out the water, as opposed to the pingpong balls in the Maltese version. Seems to work OK, good airflow, but have not yet had green water over it - and don't intend to!
You may get wind related noise as the mechanical bits move, but it's tolerable and the flap on ours can be locked closed in times of trouble/wind annoyance) as we sleep under them.
Can the Maltese ones be locked quickly?

Air Only Vents

I bought two a while ago but have not got around to fitting them yet, they seem reasonably substantial albeit maybe a bit fiddly to put together. They are quick and easy to lock down ( just a wee pull down rod in the centre).
When I bought mine the postage was I think a bit cheaper than those listed now but delivery was quick.Cheers,John.

The air vents are made in Taiwan and not in Malta. They don't have any in stock at the moment but some coming tomorrow. The sample, which I saw in their tiny work shop was looking fine. On another one I saw a price tag from a local chandelery Euro 120, which maybe explains why they don't sell to the local shops.

I have four of the Air-Only vents fitted on my cat, two for each hull. I am very pleased with the way they perform, they let air in even when the dorade vent is not facing into the wind. They have an internal lid with which one can close of the air supply. To date they are absolutely waterproof even when taking over green water.

Oh, and they will be very happy (and usually very quickly) be prepared to deal directly with you:

And Air-Only does provide excellent after-sales-service, I managed to drop a part overboard when fitting it and within a week I had received the lost part from Malta, FREE of charge!
