anybody know how what size is the masthead sheave on a sonata

Hi all,
whilst tidying up on deck yesterday I found the remains of an aluminium sheave beside the mast it looks to be about 1 1/2" dia. with 5/8" dia bore and approx 1/2" thick. Have checked all the various shakles and sheaves at the base of the mast and they appear intact. When standing on one leg and looking aloft with binoculars I think I can still see the masthead sheave but frankly not 100% sure.
Does anybody know the size of the masthead sheave, have tried the class website but no joy. Or other than climbing or dropping the mast a way of confirming it is still in place?

Can't answer your question but if you know the make of the mast, chances are they will have the spec of the various parts etc. I needed parts for the mast of my UK Hunter, mast made by Z-spars. Phoned them and parts were in the post by return. Worth a try.

I can't answer your directly either, but offer this advice.

I find that using a digital camera with a good optical zoom is the best way to study the masthead. Take a decent shot and then study it at your leisure - you'll have a much better image than through binos - and if you can view it on a decent size screen then so much the better - IMHO, of course.
