Anybody heard of Henry De Monfried?

I have read Hashish.Secrets of the Red Sea & Sea adventures but there is one in the British Library I believe Testament De Pirate that for some unaccountable reason has not been translated from the French.
Anybody have any inside information on this incredible character?
