Sorry tide table au bateau and I just need to check the low and high water times for Sheerness for Friday, 15th August and the range. Anybody got those to hand please?

Thanks guys. Herein madness lies. I am trying to reduce some soundings to a credible CD and I am getting variations. Flipper can I ask your source please? Mr Cramp: there's supposed to be 4 minutes (average) variation twixt Southend and Sheerness but I've got two times for Southend for the same day that are 20 minutes apart!

But thanks but v helpful.

The tables from the chandlers show Southend HW at 0027 and 1238 but Belfield show 0006 and 1222

Belfield show Sheerness

0005 4.8
0609 1.4
1223 5.0
1832 1.0

Just trying to confuse you even more! Huge difference with FlipperK's. /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Since WXtide was refused permission to use the GB data without paying it has become more and more inaccurate.
I wouldnt now rely on it for anything other than a rough idea.
I used to be its bigest fan but now I dont use it at all.

Don't know how much information you want but I use the Proudman site for current tide info and for predictions, and the Admiralty Easy tide site for 7 day predictions.

I think you can get historic predictions from Easy Tide and actual (unchecked means as recorded by an automatic machine and not verified) from Proudman , both free of charge, by registering. I think registration is similar to this YBW site.

Proudman Site

Easy Tide

If you click on those links it will enable you to negotiate their web sites.

You may already know of these information sources, but if not they may be usefull.

Sorry - had to nip away into town.

I agree with Flipper that minute by minute reliance is daft. They are predictions after all. I am just trying to reduce some soundings in the Ray Sand and wanted to try to at least start as 'exact' as possible. But after all I shall be doing estimations of variables based upon predictions!!!! When I go later this month to the Ray Sand I shall note the actual height of tide data broadcast half hourly by London VTS.

So I have 12.21 from Navionics
12.35 from wxtide
12.23 from Belfield All BST

Easytide want a fee and Proudman want a contract for old data. The 12.38 for Southend is the Proudman prediction who talk of adding 4 minutes tidal constant for Sheerness - which would be 12.42 - so I have a potential 21 minute spread.

Thanks guys.
