Anybody got a few metres of Raymarine Radar cable?

I am in the process of buying a Raymarine radar. Raymarine do a "package" for a good price that includes a 10m cable. Unfortunately, having measured and remeasured all afternoon, I need an 11m cable. I will thus be unable to buy the "package" and will have to buy the antenna and a separate 15m cable, which will cost £170 more - just for an extra metre!

Now since I have realised I am going to have to cut and splice the cable anyway to get it down the mast, I was wondering whether anybody might have a few metres of Raymarine radar cable they can sell me?

I thought all these things used cat5 ethernet cable these days? Your nearest IT geek can make one up for pennies if so.

Probably not important for just an extra metre, but be aware that the longer cables have a heavier power cable, to reduce voltage drop.

Join where it passes through the deck - maybe with a connector (handy when you drop the mast).

This is what I did. I cut the Raymarine cable at the point where it passes through the deck and then fitted connectors to plug it into the piece of cable fitted inside the boat. Works fine so far. The new digital systems are much easier to work with.

The question for me would be "Why do you need to extend the main cable by 1m?"
Is it because the end of the cable would still be in the mast or is it because you are just a metre short of the plotter?
I would solve this problem a different way.
The end of the raymarine cable is split in to two. Basically i) the power and shield cable and ii) the ethernet cable.

The ethernet cable plugs in to a crossover coupler (assuming you don't have an ethernet hub.) You then connect an ethernet cable from the back of the plotter to the cross-over coupler. Just buy a 2m ethernet cable instead of the standard 1m.

Ten years ago I had the same problem and ended up buying separately another 10m of cable. A brand new analog Raymarine Radar, I believe one of the last produced. The extension cable kit had the plug and this allowed only one splice in a convenient place. In your case, if you get only an extra metre, you will have to put the splice close to the radome otherwise you will have to use two splices; I am not sure but I don't think that either is a good idea.
Anyway I have a roll of approximately 7-8 m of that "useless" cable (two thick power wires and a shielded bunch of small wires); if you need it and are not in a hurry, it is expecting someone to make a good use of it - for free except delivery from Italy. Best if someone passes by and picks it up.
If you are interested PM me.

Analogue Raymarine Radar

Hi, not sure if you require a digital or analogue cable. If its analogue - I have a new unused analogue Raymarine Radar cable for sale..

If you are interested PM me.
