Hi i own a Merry Fisher 925 problem is if i want to take the boat out of water for any work anti fouling etc a crane is needed were i boat (Lough Neagh) this crane has to be hired in this isnt really the problem my probs arise when i get my boat out of the water how do i transport it to the yard which is several hundred yards away a friend has suggested getting some sort of boat trolley made to do this, would this be a viable idea? any advice would be greatly appreciated..

I know the Lough is a big un!
But can't you steem to a place that has a 'boat mover' type gadgett?

You could get a trailer for launching and recovery which may work out cheaper in the long run and certainly more convenient for your boat though you do have the initial outlay.

Hi mark would u have any names of people who could build me such a trailer in northern ireland the problem with this could be the fact the boat is a shaft drive and over 4 tonne..

there are usually some heavy duty flatbeds or low loader on ebay, e.g.

Easy enough to make up a permanent frame to fit your boat.
