Looks like Doolittle won't have to worry about my wake coming through his back door tomorrow. Will make sure I go faster if the river slows down Sunday if not the following weekend so he knows I have been through. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Ha Ha! Hey you won't be the first. Requiem last night, Crown Jewels tonight, both stretched our mooring ropes to their limit.

I have often thought of running down to the lock with a baseball bat for a bit of "tit for tat" retribution on the thoughtless sods who come haring up and down in unsuitable vessels. Maybe if i took out a navi light or two they may think twice. Take as many precautions as possible against them, but have already lost two fenders (about 70 quid) and a bit of rubbing strake to the selfish prats. Guess it can't be long before a deck cleat is hoiked out.
Perhaps you would like to take the upsteam watch Dolittle...
Only if the wash is exceptional do I draw attention to it, and then it's a wave and I point to the rear of their boat. By and large they apologise and slow and I put my hand up as a thanks and show my appreciation. But Requiem apparently just shrugged then laughed and pointed at my wife, then actually speeded up. Both Penton and Bray were going to have 'words' as apparently the guy acts as though he owns the river and is much disliked by the lockies for his contempt.
My son has a little pile of water balloons ready. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
I noticed that Lady Gay has stayed put. Bad luck but it's probably for the better. I'm sure you will have a much more enjoyable trip next week end. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
Prob heading up Wednesday. Sunday would have worked but there are so many abreast, they couldn't free her given the strength of the flow. Dennet's is sort of jammed to capacity right now....
