As I have not, so what surprises has Kim in store for us , or was it just a bug fix time out.
Any one noticed anything different with the forum?

It has become screamingly fast for me, no more waiting, I click send and almost immediately the post has gone. Also hitting index is almost instantaneous.
Have not tried searches yet, but they might actually be usable now!

Few things going on
The database server was causing problems on Friday and that had to be dealt with as a separate issue to the main agenda. Because we had to exercise a shut-down anyway (see below) decision was taken to close the forums Friday afternoon to take a look at the issue.
As per web support forum we had to shut al the servers down to migrate them to a new facility on Saturday. That work got completed late last night. This was not forum specific - it affected all IPC websites.

I hope you either get overtime or a decent amount of time off in lieu for all the weekend work your all doing.

he`s only just got back from the Indian Ocean, he should be hard at it & @ our beck & call .
i had to go & A/f this w/e due to the shut-down. out in the cold rain + snow i was instead of "curled-up" with my nice new PC near the ole log fire

Apart from it not accepting my last 2 posts, I've not noticed any difference. However the closure has allowed me to :-
1) Hoover the flat, clean half its windows (top half /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif) and clean the bath and washbasins.
2) Hose the salt off the boat, clean the wheelhouse windows, polish the wheelhouse floor and reduce the amount of junk on board.
Thus I'm going to request Kim does a closure every month so that I can continue to live in such a responsible manner in the future. /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Yep, you can <ctrl> <mouse scroll> size of text here now, as of last weekish, but that pre-dates this weekends changes, also enter things like website url's without entering {url ] type thingies
