Any One Fancy 1000BHP of Italian \'Tulio Abbate\'!

This one here is a 1990 vintage but a classic look in my opinion. See Here! With Twin Surface drives she is too long for the dry rack at hamble point but what a boat! You even get a free trailer...mind you a free petrol carrier might be more apt!

Cheers

aw shucks ! She's a left hand drive - otherwise I might be tempted- sort of... especially as she's only round the corner.

And just in case you think she's bonkers herself, would you believe that she was built on a lake?
They also had big troubles bringing her to the sea, because none of the available roads had sufficient height clearance.... Goes without saying that she's the first and last.
Tullio Abbate has always been like that - Reggie Fountain is almost an office jerk in comparison!

Hiya,

This is not a dig but you seem to post very frequently with eBay auction boats.

Is this because you're looking for a particular boat or just looking out of interest? None of them seem to be worth pursuing or represent any real value and this last one is a real 'White Elephant!'

Would you really consider buying a boat on eBay? /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Hi Roger,

I have actually bought and sold several boats on Ebay. Are you aware that major dealers/brokerage companies and insurance companies use it to sell excess stock, unwanted trade ins, damaged stock and repos! In the past even essex boatyards have sold off stock on ebay and many other dealers!

But I look at it as I think ebay is the Recycling/scrap yard of old interesting boats. You do not find boats like that down the Hamble because they are rotting away in corners of the UK. I just think that they are interesting boats for one way or another. That Tulio is a beautiful well built boat with 1000bhp and surface drives. Not your average fairline is it!

I just think that we should keep our minds open because some one somewhere loves them, and a boat is what you make of it!

Oh and Ebay sells more boats than anyone else! It is the boatshop to the average newby and experienced alike.

Lots of other people focus on new boats, so I like to remind people of classics!

Cheers

Interesting boats, thanks.

That Tullio Abbate is mad! I wonder how she ended up in Madeira...

Does anyone know anything about Tullio Abbate general quality?

I saw some good builts by this make
the problem with TB is that some finishing parts are cheap, the rest usually is good having built in the past a lot of boats for the Marine Police and Marine Surveillance
the new models are being built in Sicily, Catania harbour and looks ok
they are fast seaworthy boats but accommadation is not among the priorities
still if one would like the shape I would try to have a bargain on this and then make an engine change to some pair of Yanmars.....
