I am booked for a weeks holiday in Portugal starting this coming Saturday. Wondering if it will be a week in the Algarve or a week on the Thames as long as my boat repairs are completed.

The more I listen to the news the more confused I become about the current problems with air travel.

Was wondering if any wise avaition industry forum members have any advice or thoughts on this one and if any one else is in the same boat.

Have business trip to Antigua tomorrow morning, just keep looking at the NATS updates (every six hours) last one was at 1500 hours to say airspace is shut till 0100 Wed.

Just sit tight, if you have booked with travel agent, wait for them to cancel it and they should refund you. DONT CANCEL IT YOURSELF

If the flight ban is lifted and you have confirmed seats (as in your flight has not been cancelled yet) then you will fly.

Just take it day by day, I have less than 24 hours but the flight has not been cancelled yet so I must assume I am going until told otherwise that could be at 2100 hours tonight or first thing AM. Realistically I cant see it happening though

Pain in the back side!

To add

I now wont now until 2230 tonight for a flight at 0930 and even then the info is not 100%

The NATS info, after it has been put into proper English by the beeb is the one to go by.

Good luck!

Well, I hope all goes well but things are pretty uncertain right now. All you can do is take a folding bike, an Avon and a Mariner 2.5hp with you just in case!

One of the first out of Gatwick

looks like as of 22:00 we are an airborne nation again

yesterday, I have never seen anything like it, the only airline that was really flying was Virgin which meant it was absolutely dead in the terminal and no traffic whatsoever on M23.

Proper claps and cheers on the plane, like the old days on a flight to Marbella.....

I'll be sailing back from Dunkirk with the ADLS fleet at the end of May and have room for a few passengers who may be still stranded abroad.

The last time Lazy Days did this was in 1940.

Portugal it is

Flights all OK, weather looking good out their, flying Saturday lunchtime.

Wishing a happy Bank Holiday weekend to those on the Thames next weekend.
