neil thats right barry and kathleen atkinson i understand its great to hear a bit of history on Kazbar she is still going strong and at home in the solent
This particular Nimbus looks about 2 years older than Mine.
Should have a TAMD 30 Green lump.
105 hp as mentioned.
I now will confuse some more.
Good innit!
The 26 became the 27.
Was no longer.
Was no longer called the 26 although it was no longer.
The picture shows the 26, the 27 untill about 88 ish (not an expert just an Anorak) had a name change to 'Familia 27' with 2 different layouts.
Hactually it is worth a poke about the Nimbus websight for info on this era of vessel.
Although not every shape or form is pictured it gives a good History.
There is no doubting the quality of the Build of these old Nimbus, Or is it 'Nimbuses'?
'Buses' could be right.
None for ages then 2 or 3 turn up.
I was working on another one Today!
The bits made by Nimbus will be ok even a boat of that age.
It's the old Green Thing that drives Her I would check or have checked.
If She still has the origional engine.
That's the area I would be checking out.
PM or post on here.
I woulg be glad to enlarge.
But only to 27ft.
So long /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have a copy of the book: "The story of Nimbus" which might be rather more detailed than that you found on the Nimbus web-site. This details the 2600 as "1982 - 1990" Engines "63 - 124HP". Then we have the 2700 "1984 - 1986". These seemed to evolve into "Nimbus 27 Familia 1990 - 1997".

Yes great pity that. Looks as though there have been none since apart from a 'run' of 25 builds in 2005, based on the 280 hull -and now even those are no longer being built. These 280's BTW had the then new Volvo 160 HP D3's installed.
The great thing about these boats, was that while being well short of nine metres, they all had perfectly usable aft cabins - so no need to endure the "slap, slap, slap" sound in the forward cabin, mentioned in the recent thread here.
I am of course aware, that oddly in the present financial climate, only mega boats still appear to have a good market. But even so, I do consider it a great shame that boat builders are ceasing these smaller models.
Ten, fifteen, and more years ago most like Hardy, Princess - indeed I think even Sunseeker produced models as short as nine or ten metres.
But now I think only Seaward produces smaller models. We'd all prefer a large boat, but I like to use mine, and am very aware that my fuel costs, would be much higher from a large boat than my present D3 powered boat would consume. Berthing costs higher likewise.
