Just bought this, it is about 1 metre long.

It didn't come with a battery charger and I'm wondering if I could charge the 12v battery with my car battery charger?

Does anyone know about these things?

Well it is a 12 battery and the Pb symbol rather implies that is is a lead acid battery. But you would really need to know what type of lead acid battery, Gel, Sealed AGM, FLA ?

I see it is marked with a website for the battery manufacturer/ distributor. That would a sensible first port of call.

If in doubt set your charger for gel or sealed batteries.

A suitable charger may be available from Maplin. See http://www.maplin.co.uk/Search.aspx?menuno=77836

Just say your post.
both my father and were invoilved in model boats and i agree with previous post. You have to find out what type of battery it is.
If you need a charger I have found most model shops will give you advice on type of charger.
Good Luck

Off the top of my head I would use a Motorcycle charger rather than one designed a car battery. 7ah is much nearer to the size used on bikes and a car charger may chuck too much power into it. My Halfords charger has a M/C setting.

The battery is a AGM battery as used in alarm panels. These are normally charged by the alarm panel itself but can be charged with a small (1amp) trickle charger for about £10 although if you want to charge a little quicker you would need something a little better like a golf cart or motorbike charger.

If you want to replace the battery then maplins etc can provide them although they are a lot cheaper from intruder alarm suppliers (about £15)
