As i'm mid hunt for a winter project I've come accross a boat located in Shoreham Yacht Club's yard, if any member's here are local to said yard and wouldn't mind giving said boat a quick once over I'd very much appreciate the favour!

500 mile round trip for me to see what could be a right lemon!

I am local-ish.. About 40min from home to Shoreham.. I can probably have a look around for you if it's available to look at over the weekend, preferably Sunday..

Would just be an overview, I'm no engineer or surveyor.. :)

Hi Wipe_Out and thanks for your kind offer, however I wouldn't expect anyone to go as much as 40mins out of their way on a weekend just to have a quick look for me (which is infact all I want) hence I'll leave the post run for a few days and see if anyone a little closer may be around there.
Won't give the heads up on the exact boat but if anyone is local then yes I'll divulge....cheers Rob.
 
I'm about 20 mins away from the Sussex Yacht Club, if that's the place you're referring to? It does rather depend on the boat though, no point looking at something if you don't know what you're looking at.

Hi Jimmy,

Yeah got hold of him, discussed in detail over phone and agreed a price (prepared to take a punt and give him a deposit without viewing) as you know it was a cheapy anyway! (sub 10k for those who may find of interest).
Long and short of it advertised price 8k agreed 7.5k with a 500 deposit, was awaiting him to text me his account details allowing me to transfer funds....
Text came 2hrs later saying he had just sold to somebody else for 7.6k taken deposit and sorry for messing me around! (quite annoyed to say the least)!!!:(
Hey ho,not meant to be...So the search for a winter project continues!...:)
