I am considering a 4-5 week charter of a 38-40' yacht in Turkey next year. Yildiz have bases in Bodrum and Fethiye and a reasonable selection of boats. I am keen to hear any reports from user experiences with Yildiz or even alternative companies.

A good company to consider is Suncharter. They are a German company who mainly have Jeanneau boats, which are well maitained and well equipped. Patrick & Florian Frere in Marmaris speak excellent English, they have other bases including Gocek.

Had a boat from Yidiz - Bodrum base - several years ago. On a flotilla organised by another company, Yildiz provided the boats. Memories pretty vague now, but overall impression was that they seemed very professional & the boat was in good nick. Still got one of their t-shirts (freebie).

Yildiz is a good company with a good maintenance record. Their boats are a bit 'oldish' though. I would agree that 'Sun Charter' would be an even better choice. Excellent maintenance, new boats and a very large selection of boat types/sizes.

Chartered with moorings four years ago from Bodrum. They sub contracted to Yildiz and I was veery very impressed. The boat was new and the staff excellent. The boat cleaners even polished the stantions!

Yildiz is highly recommended.

Bodrum is most definately not. Get out as soon as you possibly can. Unless you like pumping drums'n'bass until 04.00, of course.

I'll second that! /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Yildiz are an excellent company and if you have any doubts about booking direct book through their main UK agent Nautilus Yachting, as we did.
Yildiz's boats are not "oldish" - we sailed on a 3 year old boat and there were newer ones in the fleet.
I have never chartered a boat that was better presented whether comprehensive equipment and inventory or cleanliness. The base staff were also impressive and between them spoke English, German, Dutch and, of course, Turkish. The technical and chart briefings were the best we have had!
By the way Sun Charter don't have a base in either Bodrum or Fethiye!
