My Standard Horizon 180i chartplotter reached the end of its life and as they are no longer made, I had to find another make.
So now I have a B & G Vulcan, because it takes C-Maps, and I have a drawer full. Ha!...wrong! The format is changed and the old C-Map cards no longer fit. You have to download to a micro SD Card from a cloud based site at Go Free Marine. Despite 12 days of trying to do just that, I am still no nearer having a working chartplotter again. All e-mails and phone calls are going unanswered, so I am getting somewhat p*s*ed off as you can imagine. Anyone else had same problem? Please don't say buy the card already loaded, it's for Asia South Continental and is only available as a download.
Cheers.

I downloaded UK charts for my Vulcan about a year ago: I had to have a couple of goes because my computer kept going to sleep as the Gofree download was so slow, but eventually it all worked.

It wouldn't be so bad if I could get that far, but to download from your account you need Maps Manager - and every time I try to download that, my AVG blocks it as containing virus!

The problem is most likely with your PC not their web site, I had the same issue with Navionics updater on my PC it would not allow the file manager to load. Eventual found it worked in Chrome rather than MS Explorer.

Option is also to try downloading with you AVG turned off

The downloading mechanism is clunky at best. I had huge problems trying to download a (5.1GB) chart file. Just came up with an error "Contact tech support" at the end. I tried for a week. Contacted B&G /Navico tech support- who put me on to C-MAP tech support. There is or was a recent problem at their end with the chart file generating software. Faulty. I don't know if it was fixed.
Navico is : service.uk@navico.com
C-MAP is : eu-lightmarine@c-map.com

The download to plotter and some other internet functions are apparently not quite functional (yet) -I tried that as well!!

Eventually C-MAP relented and a very helpful lady by the name of Caterina posted me a micro SD with the charts I was trying to download. Solved :)

Yep, tried that......and it screwed up the computer for three days until I could reset everything. Trying now to find someone to send me a loaded sd card and will claim back money already spent with Go Free.
