Any Commerical Fishing Boat Manufactuers In The South?

South of england... /I am looking for one of those open boats that are around 19 - 20ft with inboard/outboard.

Does anyone any trustworthy companys?

Not sure its "south", but Cygnus (now over on east coast,think they took the moulds from the Falmouth co?)
or down south (-west!). Treeve?
A bare hull looks a pretty attractive price, but a finished boat can be £30k+
Or how about Plymouth Pilot.. does that count?

Great for working from tidal harbours - they sold three GM26 boats here at the IRISH SKIPPER EXPO last March. Superb craft.

H. Baumbach & Son at Hayle Cornwall & nearby moulders Buccaneer Boats produce some fine craft also.

A lot depends on what type of fishing you are proposing to use it for and where you will be based etc. If you want to post a bit more detail, more suitable recomendations can be given.

Look at the Orkney range - super little boats.

If you are happy to consider a 'non traditional' type of small open working boat, have a look at this site re the aluminium Workstar garveys - http://www.working-boats.co.uk/workstar640.html

Or Alnmaritec have a design for a ally 6.3 m boat with an O/B motor, but as every boat with them is custom built, I am sure that they would be happy to install an inboard with an outdrive leg if required.

Seconded for Orkney Boats. Great At sea and very well built.

Another vote for Orkney Boats, of which we've had two. Thoroughly recommended. Despite its name the company is based near Arundel.
