Tried to fill the washer bottle up and check the oil on the wifes car (newish vauxhall astra) this morning. and the bonnet release cable has snapped S*** I cant open the bonnet now. tried to take the front grill out but thats fitter from inside. Any bright ideas how i can break in with out damaging the car. other than fishing around with a coat hanger.

TIA

Can you get to it from underneath?

praps you cd take the cable handle off in side the car - if the cables snapped at that point, just pullit with pliers. Jigger the bonnet aa bit first cos the mechanism may be a bit jammed - hence the cable snapped.

If its a newish car then it will be under the three year warranty. Pop into any Vauxhall dealer and they should sort it for you
