I'm sure there are a few people here that know?

Do the spanish require any extra tickets to run a charter boat from Mallorca above my MCA commercial ticket?

Booked into Club de Mar, Mallorca from end of May.

Yup,

search on my name for the last month and you'll find info on chartering a British flagged boat.

For the boat (if UK flagged).

The boat needs to on part 1 of the register and must be registered as a commercial vessel. (eg pleasure vessel in commercial use)

Must be inspected by Spanish authorities

You:
suitably qualified with commercial endorsement for the distance from shore you propose to take a boat.

Permit for you to work in Spain - very easy to get

Good luck!!!!

Hi Chris,

Although chartering is not my area of expertise, I think you only need to get your class IV certified by the British consul. As regards inspection by spanish authorities, I think they sometimes insist on an out of water inspection as well, in which case you may need to start contacting the boatyards as the usual pre-season rush has started here. Try calling Network on: (0034) 971 403903 as they specialise in getting paperwork sorted.

Regards,

Russell.
