Hiya,

Two things really:

1) Firstly, how is an auxiliary outboard (2hp?) attached to a 1750 boat such as my Bayliner should my engine break down? Because I cant think of anywhere it might go...

2) Secondly, I'm looking for one of those covers that covers the boat 'Skintight?' and is also quite waterproof, I dont think its called a tonneau, but like an all-over cover that doesnt need to be attached to the trailer, it just fits comfortably round the boat while it is in the water

Would appreciate help, espescially with the latter, as you are all so knowledgable and we all have to learn lol, I need to buy a cover but looking for a good deal, because I definitely get the feeling that I'm paying out left, right and center just because I have a boat... e.g. small ships register? where did that come from?

lol maybe its just me... anyway, thanks in advance

chris

I am not too familiar with the 1750 but I thought they had a small Bathing platform ?

I made a wooden bracket to bolt to the Bathing platform of my 2651.

Base 1 inch plywood
2 inch x 4 inch then bolted upright.
strengthened with 2 angle brackets.
Whole thing then bolted on top of bathing platform.
There are custom made ones available.

If this isn't any help I attach a photo of a Bayliner 1750 for you to study pending more useful replies /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Hi Chris

firstly re your cover 3 options
1 - buy one from bayliner dealer (Josey at windermere aquatic is very good)
2 - have one made by specialist (I had one custom made for rinker 232 a few years ago cost £280 and was first class
3 - try and buy one from states you will pay dollar for pound (if you can find one)

good luck

You can buy brackets that fix onto the boat, and which allow you to raise and lower an auxiliary o/b (not sure if 2hp is going to get you anywhere, btw).

Here's an example:

In this case, it fixes onto a transom but there are others that go onto an horizontal surface, or you could make one yourself, as suggested.

Ah, I see, both cover info and outboard info dearly noted, thanks again for the info, I meant 2hp just as an example, (research still needs to be done /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif)
I think I'll go have a look at that josey website at windermere...
