I am seeking info on the above.what is the situation if one chooses to live aboard and cruise around the Area what are the charges if any..and the lenght of time one can apply for on entry..Also safe storage during the hurricane season...thanks..

Re storage during the hurricane season: You can lift out at Jolly harbour where they will weld the legs of the cradle together for security. There are also several hurricane holes, English harbour being the best known, where you can tie into the mangroves.

Which is pretty secure but doesn't protect you from drifting boats bashing in to you...probably the most likely cause of damage, in my experience anyway

Go south, get out of the hurricane belt, the insurance is cheaper.
Trinidad and Tobago are good, generally cheaper moorings etc, and the cost of living is cheaper as well.

On saying that Antigua is my favorite place. spent many a night in Falmouth harbour and many nights crawling around bars in English Harbour/Nelsons Dockyard.

there's an (obviously free) anchorage just to the north of the approach into Jolly Harbour on the protected west side of the island. However, I stayed on the mooring buoys just inside the harbour for several days all ready to pay but nobody called by at all. Jolly Harbour is a handy stop cos the new v good supermarket which opened middle of last year is close enough to the quayside to rattle along with the trolley(s). The sports bar in the harbour also has a free pool which is very pleasant. Can't imagine there's too many restrictions on staying cos lots of brits buy holiday homes there but i don't speak from experience in that regard.
