We intend to keep boat on freshwater Thames and have two or so coastal jaunts (already much discussed elswhere in this forum) next year. It has been suggested that our boat is redone with "medium eroding" antifoul stuff. Does the panel think that this is this correct considering our intended usage ?

Not sure you really need any antifouling on the Thames. I kept my boat there for two years, and all it ever needed was a gentle scrub when it was lifted out. If you head off into salt water, any growth will drop off anyway. Limescale build up round the waterline was a much bigger problem.

Apparently the salt water will kill off the fresh water growth and vice versa so get a diver down there for a mid season scrub and things should be ok.
Have a search back, I seem to remember Byron saying that in a similar situation that he hasn't antifouled for 3 years.
(why can I remember that but forget to lock the car door??)
