Thanks

The only way forward:

I don't know of a website - I do know there are increasing restrictions for leisure AF. The best AF are 'for commercial use only' which sometimes means your yard can source them, but not you, and the yard is meant to only apply to commercial vessels (again - not you). It all seems a bit daft - but that's how it is!

The best AF I know, both commercial, is Jotun's Sea Quantum Ultra and Globic from Hempel. International's latest version of Micron gets reasonable reviews - but suitability depends on where you are, how you use your boat and applying the AF correctly (follow the instructions!)

Go into your local chandlery, the biggest one close to you, and read the specifications - the amount of copper is mentioned in the specification. Here Zinc is not considered as part of the effectiveness of AF but can be a significant component. Here the specifications are lodged with some form of Environmental Protection Agency and the Specs are available on line, but our regs and specs are different to yours. You also have AF we never see, and to a lesser extent, vice versa. There maybe something similar in the UK - but you would need to search.

Sorry cannot be of further help.

If you Google the name of the antifoul, together with "msds" or "safety data", you'll find the spec sheets. As well as percentage contents, specific gravity is a reasonable guide to effectiveness, as copper oxide is heavy.

However, the best way of getting good results from any antifoul is to paint enough of the stuff on. Manufacturers usually give guidance on how much to use. If you just put one thin coat on with a roller, it's unlikely to perform well.
