Antifouling a wing keel is easy if you can hang the boat up

Apologies for the self indulgent thread, it's been a long hard winter working on the boat and tomorrow she goes afloat, new engine, steering pedestal et al (then I get to bend on the brand new sails and go out to play :):) )

Two weeks ago it was like this....

Today it is like this ....

Wow good job. I hate trying to deal with the underside of mine. Did they hold it in the slings overnight or a weekend?

What engine have you fitted?

Thanks for all the compliments.

SS - she was held in the slings for just the one night - not normally allowed on a Saturday night - then launched this morning (it all comes down to who you know! :) I had done all the prep work and primed the wings, then the flaky stuff on the very bottom came off in no time. I dont think it had been done properly for several years.

Fitted a Beta 35 with a Flexofold 17 x 13 2-bladed folder. We took her down the river and back just as a sea trial and she felt very comfortable forward and astern. 6.5kts at cruising revs of 2100 rpm so a very happy bunny this evening !!

With that wing do other boats have to stay a certain distance behind to avoid wake turbulence? :D

If you run aground how do you get off?

I hoping other boats wont be able to stay close enough to worry ! :D

As she is new to us, I plan to adopt the same rule for getting off the putty as I do for MOB recovery ...... dont go aground (overboard) in the first place !!

The boat was looking very good this afternoon. The smiles on the owners' faces were something to behold as well.
