Hello to all
Been registered for a while now and reading and digesting info on the forum and enjoying banter, jokes etc.
Now I have my first questions that I hope you can help me with please.
We are currently moored on the Thames and are on the waiting list for a mooring in Christchurch (April, fingers crossed!), we are antifouled for fresh water. The new mooring will be near to the town quay in Christchurch which I guess would be mostly fresh water however we will doing most of our boating at sea.
Is there anyone from the forum in the Christchurch area?
What would be the best antifoul to go for and what is the advice regarding which type of anodes should be fitted?
Thanks in anticipation

Colar Wiggo for info on Christchurch.

But I would be changing the anodes for sea ones ASAP, suppose you might as well redo the fouling at the same time. Dont forget to add the extra hot chilly powder!! Oh and welcome.

Magnesium anoedes in freshwater, zinc in seawater.

Not sure the utter difference of antifoul needed meself. It's just paint slapped on so that surface damage is chipoffable, rather than a bit expensive if it got hold of the hul material.

Oh! I forgot. You're from the Thames. In that case, you'll need a large refit with completely new cushions, and New Charts for the (arg!) Tideway. :)

welcome anyway...

Chilli Powder??

Does this do what I think it sounds like it does?? Gives the barnacles "Gahndi's Revenge"?

Does it really work - and how much per 2.5L.

Re: Chilli Powder??

Read somewhere that fishermen somewhere used it. Supposed to make a world of difference.
