just had the boat out yesterday. the rudderer had no barnacles ,likewise the skeg; keel was heavily encrusted. hull was clean apart from patches around skin fittings. this was much better than last year. can i remeber which antifoul i bought ??

no

You mean that you haven't got a series of old battered half-full tins left in the garage from last year, the year before... I thought everyone had.

Then the only problem is working out which was last year's, the year before's....

Boat still in water, but can see all I ned to for comparison with last years.

No barnacles. weed considerably reduced (only just starting to get some now, prob casue only put one coat of erodible on) slime has been better, and antifoul has presented a much better more even wear , resultying in minimal loss of speed during year (a first) and to top it all, the A/F was a lot cheaper than previous coats

new stuff = TeaMac erodible
compared with International Micron

Boat at Gosport.

Boat dried out week before Cherbourg no barnicles a little weed blasted off with pressure wash.

Boat: Northney

Antifoul: CopperCoat

This year: I might go sailing!

use a different colour each year then you can see whats happening to older layers and work out which old and battered tin you are useing. Then mix the odds and sods together. works for me.

Re: antifoul results this year - Mixed End of Tin brand...

Results this year:

Big boat, kept on deep water swinging mooring - one coat of Blakes Ocean Performer (red) over one coat of Blakes Hard Racing (white). Scrubbed two weeks ago. Verdict - sucess. Heavy slime but no barnacles or jelly bags or pink stuff.

Launch, kept on drying mooring. One coat of Mixed End of Tin, more or less blue. Verdict - good at the price!

Tender kept on club pontoon, which dries, sometimes taken on deck on pasage - Blakes hard racing, white - verdict - sucess.
