I have just moved my bilge keel Westerly Centaur to Plymouth, and she will be on a deep water mooring at Oreston. Does anyone have a good recommendation for antifouling make and type for cruising ?

Shogun Seajet. Used it last year in Plymouth - perfect £42 per can from Marine and Industrial Sealants 01692 406822

Hard enough to scrub along waterline without clouds of paint coming off - though there was little need to do this.

Popped into Trago nr Liskeard this pm.

Seajet Self-polishing AF £44.29 for 2.5 ltr can.

Seajet Coastal AF £26.34 for 2.5 ltr can.

Hope info is useful.

I know this probably happens every year, but in talking to many owners and several yards in my area (Exe, Dart, Salcombe, etc), there was a general view that last season was exceptionally bad for fouling. The consensus was that none of the usually favoured antifoulings for each river were working as well as usual. I suspect (a) nobody ever claims satisfaction with their antifouling anyway (b) the restictions on manufacturers is resulting a weaker product (c) this is another indication of global warming/more nutriants in the runoff from agricultural land/what ever else is the current scapegoat. Anybody else find last year worse than normal?
