Hi
Has anyone got any thougts on whether it is a good idea to antifoul bronze propeller or do you lose the protection of your anode.

We fitted a Brunton fancy prop, at huge expense, and the instructions state that if you are going to use anything, the best protection is lanolin grease, obtainable from swindleries such as Alladins Cave, where we bought ours.

I've heard Boots is a good bet - ask for anhydrious lanolin. Smearr it on and cook in with an electric paint stripper.

I haven't actually done it myself as my prop is painted, but I need to change it 'cos it's too small for the new donk, and that's what I'm expecting to do with the new one.

Any decent chemist should be able to supply it in large quantity for a fraction of the cost of using a swindlery (tho' I have to say I have always been very happy with the help and service at Alladin's Cave).
You may have to ask for anhydrous woolfat BP if they look blank when you ask for lanolin!
