Antifoul & prices

Nearly that time of year again.

Any good deals around on antifoul

I prefer selfpolishing variety and normally can find some good prices but this year all the pricing seems very similar in which case my local chandler might get the business.

London Yacht Centre (Cruisermart :-( ) are clearing old stock out at half price. It doesn't have a shelf life so I've picked some up.

Unless it is the HS3000. I took my boat out two weeks ago - from launching in April - and only needed to wash the slime off. The boat is moored off Mylor - a good weed and barnacle growing area.

The HS3000 to my astonishment, did work. The 2000 doesn't appear to.

Another boat taken out at the same time with 2000 on, had a growth on the bottom that old father time would have been jealous of!!

I won't be putting 3000 back on, as with all the bad reports early in the season, I went and bought Jotum SuperTropic at a boat jumble.

If I knew then what I know now, I could have put 3000 back on for next season.

I even have photos of the bottom when she came out.

regards,
Philip

had excellent results from the xm hard racing, except that it seems a bit sensitive to what is the paint you are putting it on - a few small localised ares of flaking
