Antifoul paint

Hi, I have a Dutch Steel Cruiser that is kept on a mud mooring in brackish water. What is the best antifoul paint to use? I can’t remember what was used last time and it was 2 years ago. She came out of the water today so going to be cleaning and repainting shortly. Any advice appreciated. Thank you

The best advice for your local conditions will come from local boat owners, ask a few to spot any trends, or ask at your local chandlery, they will have had lots of customer feedback over the years.

They might be slightly more expensive than the big online retailers, but are worth supporting for the free advice and being there when you need stuff in an emergency, I always ask my local chandler before buying anywhere else, and they now help me in all kinds ways, like lending me their open tub of Blake’s seacock grease instead of selling me one.

I've kept a boat on a mud berth in Portsmouth Harbour for nearly 20 years. I've tried all sorts, including coppercoat, but none of it made a significant difference. In the end, I gave up and settled for a couple of extra scrubs during the season.

Keep a hold of the tin when you antifoul, saves trying to remember what you used!
