Anti slipping a gang plan

We have an aluminium gang plank which is dangerously slippy when wet. At the recent syndicate agm I suggested replacing it with a wooden one - lighter, quieter, less likely to damage gelcoat if dropped, a bit less slippy, but was outvoted. We then got onto anti-slipping it. I suggested hanging it over the side for the winter and the barnacles would make a fine anti slip coat but this was not taken seriously (quite rightly I should think). Talked through treadmaster, rubber strips, all sorts of stuff but don't seem to have reached a conclusion. Does anyone have any ideas for a cheap but reasonably robust solution.

Paint treads with somethink like epoxy and sprinkle with chinchilla grit from pet shop

the only other way would be to buy some rolls of non slip tape used by the laser sailors on their wings, this is about twelve pounds for a eight meter roll thats four inches wide

thats all the ideas i have

Buy a roll of the anti-slip tape that you put on flat deck hatches.
Buy car floor mats and stick them on.
Mix sand with paint and put it on.
Buy deck paint and put that on.
Buy Trac-mark and stick it on.
Use an angle grinder to cut grooves.
Try very course sanding to roughen the surface.

Bolt on some expanded mesh. A bit more expensive and heavier than other solutions but likely to be more effective and longer lasting.

best option is anti-slip tape. it comes in 2 varieties- one is embossed with a rough plastic pattern, used for dinghies etc and not too abrasive on clothes. the serious stuff is coated with grit and sticks like sh*t but is too rough for a surface you might rub clothing on.

i have a smooth GRP plank whigh i stuck strips of teak on, similar to the grips you find on marina ramps.
