ANTI-FOULING & CHILLI POWDER

Can anyone shed light on this recipe?
Apparently the addition of chilli powder repels all growth on the hull.
If any truth in this, does anyone know the proportion of powder per litre?

Would be glad to hear any comments.

it works except in mexico - the mexican barnacles love a bit of chilli powder

Just keep tipping it in until the smell is overpowering, then bring it back by adding cold lager.

It works! I just add a huge tin, about a kilo, in 20 litres of antifoul.

I read about this a few years ago, and it seems to work on some barnacles but not all.
I once had some problems with mice in my house, and when I found their hiding place, I gave them a dose of chilli powder, and never saw them again. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
