Well, it needs a bit of development, but the idea of a nano-scale layer of AF with similar performance to the multi micron layers of current wet technology, is attractive.

Maybe Sara's sources could be persuaded to come up with an automatic eximer laser cannon which will zap the barnacles and weedy bits, square millimetre by square millimetre, while leaving the underlying gelcoat unscathed.

Set it up, collimate the sights and reference points, switch on and go have a cup of tea....
