We antifouled Eos in December 2007 and it went back in just a few days later and hasn't been out since. Went underneath yeasterday for a regular inspection and pleased to say that there is only slime and no barnacles or weed except on the (metal) rudders, shafts and props.

So what is the magical antifoul? It's International Trilux with copper powder mixed in as recommended by tcm on this forum. Tcm recipe. Oh and I didn't activate the copper as suggested by tcm, just mixed it with the Trilux, painted it on and re-launched.

As I was only snorkelling I didn't give the whole hull a good wipe, but where I did the slime came off easily. I did give the hull an underwater wipe off once last year, but apart from that it's been left to its own devices. I have to say I'm very pleased with the results.

The props have been regularly cleaned, they have weed growing on them in just a few weeks as do the shafts. The rudders also seem to attract long green throngs of weed but they are easily cleaned.

Looks like the Trilux/copper powder concotion will mean at least a 2 year interval between anti fouling and possibly even more. Will definitely do the same again.

We have used EU45 this year & are very impressed so far, will report back at end of year with a full report, but it also contains a lot of copper. Still using propshield on the metalwork which is equally impressive.

Also used EU45 on fresh in April - still very clean so very pleased compared to the blakes I used last year which had growth with 4 weeks.
