Having just spent half a day scraping and scrubbing the bottom of my old Avon dinghy I wonder if anyone has tried to anti-foul one?

Now if it were up to me I would get rid of the dinghy but SWMBO likes to sail to inaccessible beaches and as the dinghy plus outboard is quite heavy (I am getting on a bit) I leave it floating for the summer.

Thanks in advance for any ideas

John

I've definitely seen flexible antifoul for inflatables before. Although I suppose if you leave it in the water long enough to grow a beard, you don't need it to be flexible enough to fold anyway.

Anti foul

We use the Polymarine anti foul made for inflatables. I cannot tell you the name as the can is in my garage in Devon. They do two types. One is for PVC and one for hypalon. It works very well on our rib which is afloat in Salcombe all summer. We have tried ordinary anti foul to save money but it was not really successful.

Although this may seem completely stupid, it works! For around 30 europs you can buy a cover for an inflatable, its cheapo plastic with an elastic to hold it in place. Simply put it on upside down (underneath) it is easy to put on and slide off. Result, no more scraping carp off.

Don't try this with a planing RIB.

Always been leary of putting ordinary AF on my hypalon dink. I have always bought the special AF for hypalon. Qt tin does for two coats on mine.
