Anti corrosive additive for oil????

Is there any oil additive that can be added to my engine oil, Caterpillar 350HP, that is put in as an over-wintering aid to stop any corrosion if they are not run for 4 - 5 months?

I am unable to replace with new oil until next season, the oil in there has done about 55 hours this summer.

Erm..... Oil is a good corrosion inhibitor!

Oils contain corrosion inhibitors, so should be fine for a winter lay up.

Before wintering i would recommend a full service, including an oil change, run the engines for about 30 minutes until warm so all the new oil has circulated, vary the engine revs; stop and all should be fine.

At the start of the season, run the engines to circulate the oil again, change only the oil and you will have the ultimate protection, you do not even have to do the filters.

We use this product on balers, mowers and other farm machinery such as bale sledges that have to live outside a lot between haymaking sessions. Excellent at rust prevention.
