Hi everyone

Some while ago, someone mentioned there was a fuel additive which would EAT anything horrible in the fuel, not just kill it and leave a sludge. Could someone (maybe the same someone, maybe not) tell me what it is, please?

Thanks a bunch

the way I understood it, there are the bug killers which leave a residue like you say and then there is the enzyme based ones that sort of dismantle the stuff. My biochemistry is missing but i guess that the smaller particles get passed through to the engine without bunging things up. Soltron seems to be the stuff most recommended but harder to find in chandlers.

The most well known and used is "Fuel Set" which I have used with great success for years. Recently Soltron has become popular but I believe this is through active promotion. I know and trust fuel set and will stick with it.

Yes, I agree with Boatmike. I have also used fuel set for many years and have never had a filter block nor sludge in the tank. I also add a biocide in tiny amounts and this may help reduce the breeding of bugs!! /forums/images/graemlins/mad.gif
I haven't tried Soltron and see no reason to unless fuel set starts to be ineffective.

Cheers Jerry
