antares charts on ipad

Trying to figure out how to get them onto my ipad, am I right that it requires using itunes?
I am hoping there is another way as I detest and despise that peice of crap software. (its fine on a mac, but a complete dog on pc)

Yes you do need to use iTunes file transfer to get Antares Charts onto your iPad.
Not Antares fault, but it’s the closed Apple world doesn’t allow us to simply connect up as a USB drive like we can do with an Android device.

However, it should be easily enough done on the PC in a few minutes, albeit not particularly intuitive software design unlike most Apple stuff.
Start iTunes, connect iPad with cable and select File transfer, or something similar. Good instructions on Antares site. Sorry my iPad is playing up so not allowing any symbols or links right now, doh.

You need iTunes -

Here's how to do it with Memory Map installed on the iPad - first download the Antares charts on to the PC/Mac and expand the Zip. Then connect the iPad via its USB cable and wait for iTunes to open and sync. Click the iPad icon (a small grey rectangle near the top of it iTunes page) and click "File sharing" Find your mapping app and click it - then drag the map files from "Charts/QCT for Memory Map" into the right-hand pane.

There's a file called "Charts/BSB for PC and Mac plotting software", but I don't know how to install them

Just about to download Antrares eventually on to IPad does anyone know how much room it takes up
Thanks

Memory maps takes 1.3 GB on my iPad. I assume this includes Antares as it doesn't seem to be listed separately. That is with UKHO charts of Scotland as well. The Commentary takes 168MB.

It won't sound helpful - but follow the instructions EXACTLY - and it will work - and the result fantastic. I had tremendous trouble 2 years ago and gave up, last year I sought help from Bob Bradfield who guided me through the process, this year no problem - I have all 2018 Antares charts integrated with Memory-Map charts on both my iPhone and iPad. The main problem I had was finding various icons - which I just didn't recognise. Go slow and painfully follow every step and you'll get there.
