Still getting to my next boat and no joy on sourcing a suitable Prestige (32 or 36) but availability on the Antares range. Any views on the above, particularly with the single over double argument. The 30 is a 2012 and the 9.80 is a 2009 and c. £20k cheaper.

I much preferred the 9.80. I think it is a nicer looking boat too. The twin Volvos are 225hp I think whereas the 30 is a volvo 370hp?
The 30 will be cheaper to run, both to maintain and fuel. I'd go for the 9.80 personally.

You can have best of both. Beneteau do make the30 with twins - they call it the 32

As they say, it's all about the money. I have two issues, one is I plan on trading in rather than selling then buying so restricted in my options and second is that the 32 pushes me into another price bracket which would take me away from the Antares altogether.... oh to be contented (or rich!)

I don't disagree but a fixed transom and proper bathing platform is a real plus for the 30 in my opinion but perhaps not enough to tip the balance?

We have a 980 with twin Nanni engines which we've had valued this weekend as we're now looking for something bigger. Previously we had an Antares 8 so single engine. The twin is so much easier to manoeuvre. Our berth is really tight and we can get in and out no problem even when it's windy. We like the moving transom because we rarely use a swim platform so we don't have to pay for it. Before buying this one 3 years ago we looking at the Prestige 32 and 34 but they looked more like party boats than something you could live on comfortably.
