Good morning. I know this has been done to death but I would like advice on antifouling my Beneteau Antares 8.8. Mainly which is the best brand for 12 months afloat and hopefully plenty of usage. After searching the forum, Jotun seems to be well regarded. I also have read that some brands aren't compatible with what is already there.

I have trim tabs which aren't antifouled and quickly foul up, I was thinking of putting the clear stuff (can't remember its name!) on which I have used on sailing boat folding propellers before.

Any advice and specific experiences would be greatly received.

I use international on a similar size boat (MF805)- I'm less worried about the brand to be honest - check if you can apply the antifoul paint to the metal bits as the contents often have metals which can cause severe oxidation if not compatible.

There is a nice 2cm gap between the antifouling and any metal bits such as the trim tabs and the outboard bracket. As I understood it, the copper in the antifoul reacts with anything metal. Everybody else on the marina just seems to antifoul their tabs.

Like vandy I am less worried about the Brand .You get all sorts of different answers on that one
In fact Danfarry, over the Years in and around The Menai I have used 'Bradite paints' a paint brewers and wholesalers on an Industrial estate in Bethesda
I had to protect a 40 steel keel some years ago
It was not galvanised so I went to Bradites who mixed Me two types plus an additive for each covering
5 years later it looks mint!
They will advise on your metal bits too
