Antares 30 - Bilge pump Switch

I was wanting to know where the bilge pump switch was located on my Antares 30, as one should probably check this now and then.
In the pic below there are two hoses that go into this cutout under the shaft, seems like the lowest point in the boat - one with metal strainer and one without (wanting to know why?), I assume one is connected to the inline electric pump and one to the manual pump, but cannot see a switch to trigger auto mode?

its conected to shower pump out one to that and one to manuel pump in cockpit the switch should be on pannel with other switches
 
I'd like to know this too.

On the switch panel the bilge pump switch has three positions, off, auto, and on. When it's on "on" the switch is illuminated, but when it's on "auto" or "off" the switch isn't illuminated. I guess that if it's on "auto" and I lift the float switch it will be illuminated. However, I can't find the float switch to check the theory!
 
As far as I know there isnt a float switch it just wired for auto if you fit float switch not a lot of room in bilge under the shaft
 
Who's going to volunteer to pour a few gallons water in bilge? I think the OP who keeps boat in much warmer climate :D

It's a poor set up if there's no float fitted, a small leak in marina could sink boat if left for a few weeks.

I think its a CE requirement to have a pump on at all times operated through a water level sensor of some sort, remember they can be float, electrodes or air type level sensors so unless you know what you are looking for they may be hard to spot.

Assuming components are similar within the benny group mine originally had electrode type level sensors and 2 pumps of which one was always on, directly connected to the battery.
 
Btw, I always clean my blige a few times every year putting detergent and or chlorine in there then flushing it with water and wait for the pumps to engage. The water in the blidge eventually start to smell so its a good practice you all should consider and as a bonus you get confirmation your sensors and pumps work :)
 
Hi All,
Thanks for your responses, have had the dealer contact Beneteau and they have confirmed no auto operation - Owners manual is misleading as it lists an auto position on the switch, but this is only if you choose to fit a float switch!
Lucky bilge has been totally dry so far
Another Job to do......
