Since the good guys at Global Yachts* in Hamble found a new home for our Lady Louise last month, I've been viewing the 'Show us your Mobo' thread with green eyes.

Lady Lou' was a 33' twin engined displacement motor cruiser and we think we're looking to replace her with a similar sized (ok then, a bit bigger) semi d or planing hull capable of cruising at about 20 to 25kts and a max of 30ish. Notwithstanding the 'Targa vs FB' debate on a recent thread, we've set our hearts (I have, anyway) on a flybridge.

Being realistic, I'm not going to get round to buying anything until early next year but I'd be grateful for forumites comments on alternatives to the Prestige 36' (2003 to 2007) which seems to be the easy choice. We've looked at a few Rodmans and like their hulls and build quality but not their relatively spartan interiors.

Thanks in advance.

*They're also saily boat dealers and agents but I thoroughly recommend their professionalism.

I understand I'm not really answering your question - sorry, been a bit out of touch on that size of boats lately - but if one of your requirements is a 30ish max speed, I'd rather steer clear of semi-D hulls.
Someone might try to sell you a 30kts boat as semi-D, more seaworthy than a planing boat, and so forth. Snake oil.
The only efficient way known to mankind for building an efficient monohull boat capable of 30kts is the good old planing hull.

Hmm, interesting Mapis. Mind you, Rodman (or their dealers) describe their sports fisher types as semi d's and I believe most of them are good for 30kts. I guess then that they might not do the mpg of a similar weight and length vessel with a full planing hull.
