Another Sailcloth Question...

I'm about to buy a new mainsail for my newly acquired Eolia 25. I've been shopping around some of the main sailmakers (Including one I've bought from before) and Dacron seems the way forward for my sailing, most of which will be on the Solent.

Two sailmakers have quoted me reasonable prices for what I want. One is proposing to use a 'high modulus' cloth, the other a 'balanced weave' cloth.

The one offering the high modulus sail manufactures in the Phillipines but has made me good sails for a previous boat. The other is a local company that manufactures themselves.

Any thoughts on the cloth types please?

Boat show coming up, would be worth taking a day during the week to talk to as many as possible. Did this last year and very happy with our Dimension Polyant C-Breeze Genoa by Kemps.
